Quality and Service was founder Bill Compton’s vision, and he instilled that in his family and employees.
When the independent grocers were strong in the 80’s, Compton’s grew to eight stores creating hundreds of local jobs and donated thousands of dollars to local schools, churches, youth sports, and the community.
Through attrition, the Compton’s family sold in 2009 to Sunil and Pam Hans. Since the sale the Hans Family has continued the Comptons tradition making significant improvements to the McKinley Boulevard store in East Sacramento. Included are a service deli, cafe and bar, new equipment and products throughout the store to meet the changing times, and for all their hard work and dedication the community recognized Comptons as retailer of the year in 2017 by the East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce.
